The Growing Abundance Project Committee is excited to invite expressions of interest for two contract positions for an immediate start. Made possible by a Strengthening Rural Communities Grant from the Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal (FRRR), we are looking for a Harvest Coordinator and Funding and Development Coordinator.
A cornerstone of the Growing Abundance Project has been the Harvest Project, which sees volunteers harvesting excess food from local orchards and yards and distributing it to community members and local organisations.
The Harvest Coordinator (7.5 hours per week x 16 weeks) is a community facing role responsible for coordinating and delivering the Harvest Project.
Responsibilities include: Liaising with orchard owners to organise harvest of food, liaising with community stakeholders to organize distribution of food, Coordinate harvest volunteers, participate in harvest activities, organize events, maintain database for participating stakeholders, manage online platforms including website, mailchimp and social media, attend monthly committee meetings, project evaluation, engaging with Fundraising and Development Manager as required.
*Demonstrated community engagement experience, including working with a variety of stakeholders
*Communications and Marketing Experience
*Ability to work autonomously
*Effective Time management Skills, Organisational Skills, and proven ability to manage a number of tasks concurrently
*Working with Children’s Check, or willingness to obtain
*Public Liability Insurance (Insurance arrangements can be discussed with the committee)
*Victorian Driver’s License and access to vehicle
*Due to current Victorian Vaccination Mandate, evidence of double vaccination is required for this position.
Fundraising and Development Coordinator
The Fundraising and Development Coordinator (7.5 hours per week x 16 weeks) is a work from home position, and is responsible for fundraising and organisational development activities.
Responsibilities include: grant research and submission, strategic development of the organization, project evaluation, supporting Harvest Coordinator and harvest activities as required. Assistance and direction from the committee will be provided.
*Professional Writing and Communications Experience
*Demonstrated successful grant writing experience for the not for profit sector
*Knowledge of community grant or philanthropic opportunities highly regarded
*Strategy and Development experience in the not for profit organizational context
*Effective Time Management Skills, Organisational Skills, and proven ability to manage a number of tasks concurrently
*Ability to work autonomously
